Greetings and salutations. The AIO Team was recently recording episodes for Season 9 of the Adventures in Odyssey Club! Episode titles, descriptions, and clips were being posted on the AIO Facebook page.
I thought I would do something similar to what the Welcome to Odyssey blog did a few years ago, posting about the things on the AIO Facebook page when the team was recording. In this post, I’ll be rounding up all the information that was revealed and commenting on it.
Spoiler warning to those who don’t want to know the titles or descriptions or hear any clips for these upcoming episodes; read at your own risk.

Knox on Love: All That We Know So Far
According to the AIOWiki page, “Knox on Love” was recorded on July 26, 2021 and will feature Eugene Meltsner, Connie Kendall, Wilson Knox, and Penny Bassett. It is written and directed by Phil Lollar. It is scheduled to release in the Adventures in Odyssey Club in 2022. We’ve currently got no summary for the episode.
COMMENTARY: So, what are my thoughts? Well, based on the title and characters, I think “Knox on Love” is going to be similar to the episode “Met His Match”. I bet Connie, Penny, and Eugene are going to set Wilson up with someone. Sounds very interesting!
Results May Vary: All That We Know So Far
CALHOUNS ON A MISSION: The Calhoun family heads to the Dominican Republic in “Results May Vary,” a Season 9 Club adventure spotlighting the work of Global Health Outreach. We just recorded this scene from that show featuring brothers Trey (Paul Mikel Williams) and Cooper (Preston Butler III).

According to its AIOWiki page, this episode was recorded on July 26, 2021 and will feature Cooper, Joseph, and Trey Calhoun. Lucia Ortega and Wilson Knox will also be in this episode. The writer and director is unknown. The episode’s featured charity is Global Health Outreach. It is scheduled to release in the Adventures in Odyssey Club in 2022. We currently have no summary for the episode.
COMMENTARY: The video shows Cooper and Trey talking about a mission trip. Based on what is heard, I assume that this episode will take place overseas and will star Trey Calhoun, trying to be worth the money Lucia gave to make a difference.
In For A Penny: All That We Know So Far
TOO MUCH FUN: Director Phil Lollar and the crew are already in stitches this morning as Katie Leigh (Connie) and Kimmy Robertson (Penny) record a scene from “In For a Penny.” When Penny’s art class at the hospital gets cut, she takes her paints and brushes to the juvenile detention center … with mixed results. This 2022 Club show was written by Abigail Geiger.
COVID RULES: Normally we’d record a scene like this “family style,” with all four actors seated in the same room. We’re back in the studio, but have to follow special rules about distancing. So Penny (Kimmy Robertson) is in the main studio, Connie (Katie Leigh) is in the isolation booth to the left, Pastor Juan (Ruben Garfias) is in the booth to the right, and Kyle (Ray Yamamoto) is in a studio down the hall. You’ll hear them all in this scene from “In for a Penny.”

According to the AIOWiki page, this episode was recorded July 27, 2021 and is written by Abigail Geiger. It is scheduled to release in the Adventures in Odyssey Club in 2022. Some of the characters it will feature are Penny Bassett, Connie Kendall, Juan Reyes, and Kyle. We also have a summary:

COMMENTARY: This episode looks interesting. Penny teaching art to juvenile delinquents. And a rowdy kid causing trouble (that scene will probably have some good sound design). Looks like quite an adventure. I am going to randomly predict that this episode will release on the Club in June 2022. Let’s see if I’m right.
Judge Me Tender: All That We Know So Far

According to the AIOWiki page, this episode was recorded on July 27, 2021. It is written and directed by Marshal Younger. The characters it features include Bridget and Wyatt Perkins, and Jules Kendall. We currently have no summary for it. This episode is scheduled to release in 2022. We do not know if this is an Adventures in Odyssey Club exclusive episode or if it is a mainstream album episode.
COMMENTARY: Okay, I’m going crazy with excitement!! Bridget and Jules are meeting! This is something that I have thought about before, and I am excited that they have recorded an episode about this! However, I’m really hoping that this will be an album episode and not an AIO Club exclusive. The meeting of Bridget and Jules is too important of an event to be exclusive to the Club members and needs to be in a mainstream album. That’s how I feel, anyway. I’m sure we’ll find out if it’s an album episode. Album 72, perhaps?
Also, there is some additional information available about this episode not up on AIOWiki yet. A video of Shona Rodman, voice of Jules Kendall, speaking to the fans was posted. In this video are additional pages of the script “Judge Me Tender” are visible. They are blurry, but I was able to decipher some of it. I’ll get to that later.
Fishing For Gold: All That We Know So Far
According to its AIOWiki page, this episode was recorded on July 28, 2021. It is written by Bob Hoose. It will feature the characters Detective Don Polehaus and Molly, his granddaughter. We currently have no summary for it. This episode is scheduled to release on the Adventures in Odyssey Club in 2022.
COMMENTARY: So, it looks as though Detective Polehaus has a granddaughter?! I’m very shocked and interested. Notice that the post says, “Were you aware that cranky Detective Polehaus had a granddaughter?” Emphasis added onto the word “had”. So, does that mean he no longer has a granddaughter? The post goes on to say, “We get to meet young Molly in the sweet family story”. This seems to be further development and look into the backstory for Detective Polehaus. I think that this episode needs to be in an album. It looks like it will be an important part of Polehaus character and history.
The Way of the Comic Book: All That We Know So Far
100th CLUB ADVENTURE: Next spring, the Adventures in Odyssey Club will release its 100th exclusive episode, “The Way of the Comic Book.” After Jay criticizes Buddy’s story ideas, Buddy asks Wooton to mentor him in comic book creation, reflected in this clip featuring Jess Harnell and Stuart Allan.

According to its AIOWiki page, this episode was recorded on July 28, 2021. It will feature the characters Buddy Norman, Wooton Bassett, and Jay Smouse. The writer and director are unknown. This episode is scheduled to release in the Adventures in Odyssey Club on April 1, 2021. It will be the 100th Club exclusive episode. We’ve also got a summary:
After Jay criticizes Buddy’s story ideas, Buddy asks Wooton to mentor him in comic book creation.

COMMENTARY: It’s hard to believe that this will be the 100th AIO Club exclusive episode. If only those who aren’t in the Club had a way to listen to them. I do have thoughts on this issue, but that’s another post for another time. Anyway, this sounds like a fun episode. Based on the sound clip, it sounds like there will be a funny scene, with Wooton and Buddy running away from a dog. Wooton teaching Buddy about comic books sounds pretty cool. And I’m always a fan of Buddy and Jay interactions, so I’m really excited about this episode! Only 7 months, 3 weeks, 6 days (239 total days) until it’s released!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Judge Me Tender
The following video below was also posted on the AIO Facbook page, where Shona speaks to the fans. To the left are more pages of the script “Judge Me Tender”.
By zooming in and making some photo edits and staring, I was able to get a look at some of the words on the pages of the script. Most notably, we can make out some of the characters in a scene. One that I can see clearly is “Connie”. Therefore, it can be safely assumed that Connie Kendall will be making an appearance in this episode. Here’s a picture of one of my edits and deciphering attempts.
I’m sure if I worked with this longer I could make out more, but I don’t have time to. If any of you readers out there can make out anything else, please leave a comment and let us know!
The AIO Team finished up their recording session on July 28. I’m sure that they will be having another session later this year.
Well, that’s all the news for now. There has been other AIO News that has been revealed recently, but I wanted to just focus on these newly-recorded episodes for this post. I’ll be making another news post where I cover the other news. I am also working on a late review of “The Revenge of Bigfoot”. I will be releasing both posts as soon as I can.
