Greetings and salutations, readers. It has been a while since there’s been a news post (or any other posts for that matter…). A lot of interesting news items have come up recently. Here I’ll be gathering up all the latest news.

Album 73
Album 73: 28 Hours has been officially confirmed by Marshal Younger. It is available for pre-order on Amazon and CBD. Interestingly enough, the lengthy summary has been mysteriously removed and replaced with simply this:

The clock is ticking toward an explosive showdown as the crew from Whit’s End race to solve a heart-pounding mystery in this special, six-part adventure 28 Hours.

Adventures in Odyssey audio dramas release the imagination of both young and old as listeners follow a host of characters through adventures in the town of Odyssey. Geared toward kids ages 7 and up, these high-quality audio dramas teach biblical truths and moral foundations for children to make decisions from throughout their lives. They are perfect for car rides and initiating important conversations with kids.

This is very interesting. Why was the initial summary removed and replaced with a lot less information than the previous summary? I’m thinking it was a mistake and that they didn’t mean to release that much information about the album. I’m noticing how it now says that it is a “heart-pounding” mystery. It’s not very often when the album summary itself uses such phrases to say that the album will be thrilling. I’m now wondering if there will be a parental warning for any episodes in the album. The album will be releasing in the Adventures in Odyssey Club in July this year.

Oh, and the cover art has been revealed, via Austin Peachy who runs the Odyssey Geek Podcast. Here it is:

This looks intense! I am extremely excited for this album. I’ll be making a post about my theories at some point. The album will be released on CD on October 4, 2022, and in the Adventures in Odyssey Club this July. I’m looking forward to it.

Vote in the Avery Awards!
On the topic of albums, voting for the Avery Awards for Albums 71: A Slippery Slope and 72: The Long Road Home is now open! Go to the latest episode of the Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast to vote! The results will be revealed in early September this year (I assume) in a special Avery Awards episode of the Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast. Be sure to get your votes in before the polls close!

Marshal Younger Q and A Session
The Town of Odyssey Message Boards recently hosted a live chat with Marshal Younger in which the fans asked him questions about Odyssey and upcoming episodes. Gianna has written an excellent informative post collecting everything that he revealed, so be sure to check it out here.

Upcoming Imagination Station Book
The summary and title for the next book in the Imagination Station Book Series has been revealed. It will be called “Sled Run for Survival”. Here’s the summary:

When the kids step into the Imagination Station, they travel back in time and across the world with cousins Patrick and Beth. Each book is historically accurate, and readers will grow in their faith and knowledge of big historical events as they race through each unforgettable story.

Patrick and Beth knew they’d be facing a danger more fierce than a polar bear or a walrus, but they never thought their opponent wouldn’t be large enough to see.

After arriving in Alaska in the winter of 1925, they discover that a very small enemy—a disease called diphtheria—is sweeping through the town of Nome. Can Patrick help retrieve enough medicine for the children by riding along with Clearsky and his team of sled dogs?

Meanwhile, Beth makes a new friend who wants to prove she can accomplish this mission using an airplane, and she’s not taking no for an answer. But can Amelia safely fly a plane over frigid and stormy Alaska? Will the dogs be able to get the medicine back to Nome in time?

The cover art has also been revealed:

Looks interesting. The book will be released on December 6, 2022, and I assume will be fully released on the Adventures in Odyssey Club at an earlier date. Be sure to pre-order it on CBD and Amazon!

Last Chance Detectives
The title, summary and cover art for the next book in the re-releasing Last Chance Detective book series has been revealed!

Book seven is titled “Quest for the King’s Crown”. Here’s the cover art:

Indiana Jones-looking, isn’t it?

Here’s the summary:

The Last Chance Detectives are searching for a long-lost treasure, but they’re not the only ones.

In book seven of the Last Chance Detectives series, readers learn that people aren’t always what they seem—and that some treasures are worth more than gold.

Mike and his friends come across an ancient artifact that could unlock riches beyond their wildest dreams. Those dreams are threatened, however, by an unexpected break-in that has the local sheriff puzzled. When a mysterious stranger shows up in town, Mike, Winnie, Ben, and Spence wonder if they are in more danger than they realized.

Their hunt for the treasure becomes a race against time as the Last Chance Detectives come face-to-face with perhaps their greatest foe ever! Quest for the King’s Crown is a story of heart-pounding action, age-old mysteries, and several unexpected twists. Does the gang have what it takes to meet this challenge?

The Last Chance Detectives won’t stop until the mystery is solved!

CBD and Amazon

Looks interesting! The book will be released on November 8, 2022. Be sure to pre-order it from Amazon and CBD!

Social Media
The AIO Facebook page has been very active lately. With a series of posts, there is an exclusively-online AIO story going on involving a meteorite with a large amount of gold, comprised of pictures of things that correspond to the world of Odyssey, such as Whit’s phone or Eugene’s journal. The story is called “Meteorite Mayhem”. The posts are also available on a page on the official site to view in one place.

The Facebook page released a video in which Bob talks to Evan David, who is running the AIO Facebook page. He talks about his background, how these new adventures are working, and future plans. Be sure to check it out.

I’m very interested in seeing where this goes.

Whew, that was quite a bit of news. As you may have noticed, we have not been posting very consistently recently. Things have been busy. However, things are about to change. Be on the lookout this summer in the coming months for some more posts. We’ve got a lot of stuff in the works, and we look forward to sharing it all.
